About Me

I have had a 15-year career outside the world of politics, as well as extensive involvement in community and voluntary work. I am also the only main candidate who is a Londoner born-and-bred. Here's more about me...

Date and Place of Birth: I was born in London in February 1971.

Family: I live in South London with my wife and our two sons, aged 5 and 3.

Parents: My father did his National Service in the Navy and he became a producer/director of documentaries for the BBC. My mother worked part-time as a shop assistant - but full-time as a mother of three boys.

Present Job: Senior manager in the Public Sector division of BT. I advise Local Councils on the use of IT to become more effective in the way that they deliver services to people - so that they provide value for money to their residents.

Political Career: I served as an elected Local Councillor in Kensington & Chelsea from 2002-6. I am most proud of the project that I led to improve the life chances and educational attainment of children in care.

Political Passions: I am passionate about improving social services, health and housing for people. In particular, I have done a lot of work with disadvantaged children. The lack of youth facilities and activities for young people in Lewisham East is one of my priorities.

I enjoy: Running, travel and history.
